Print Restoration Work Samples

Below are some samples from a family archive, illustrating a variety of restoration/retouching work, and what it would cost today, shown in a before-and-after format. All work is done in Adobe Photoshop. From top down, they go from most extensive retouching to least. These are larger files to show the details of the transformations, so this page may take a longer to load.

Extensive work: repaired tears in the print, removed smudges and dust spots, rebuilt the frame, removed color cast.  $35.

This one involved removing ink stains from the print, extensive spotting, rebuilding the date at top right. No color correction. Cost – $25.

The main problem here was the huge scratch. I removed that and brightened it up. Cost – $25.
